If every big company is doing mass layoffs, where can people actually FIND JOBS???
Here's where to look...
🔎 Start with the DATA - even with the Bureau of Labor Statistics being out of commission since the shutdown, its last big report from August has tons of clues if you know where to look...
🔻 Go SMALL - as much as we tend to fetishize big companies and brands, the BLS makes it super clear that the biggest opportunities are in the smallest companies, with 79% of all job openings in companies UNDER 1,000 employees!
🤝 Go SERVICES - even with AI starting to eat away at technical work, the service sector is still going strong with 5% job growth in Hospitality, Healthcare, and Education. After all, it's a lot harder to automate a teacher or nurse!
🤖 Go TECH? - and yet, even with all the doom-and-gloom in Big Tech, Information jobs are still growing at a 5.5% clip. Why? Check out that first recommendation above - while Amazon may be doing layoffs, smaller tech firms, flooded with VC cash, are still hiring like crazy!
⬆️⬇️ Go NORTH and SOUTH??? - we all know that Southern states have had booming economies for a while but it turns out that the Midwest is now hot on their heels. So think Texas and North Carolina, but also Minnesota and Wisconsin!
Bottom Line: These times are super tough but there's always opportunity hiding behind the headlines. When in doubt, let data be your guide! ⚡️
