In other words, are there still jobs that you NEED an MBA to get???
Kay Dawson at the University of Washington's Foster School of Business thinks it may be... and that may actually be a good thing.
Here's why:
😒 On the one hand, AI and other labor market trends have led employers to become pickier about whom they hire - i.e., it's not good enough to just show up with three letters next to your name and say "Hire me!"
🤝 On the other hand, this will force MBA students to get crystal-clear about the value they can add - instead of just assuming that a job is guaranteed, they'll have to think carefully about both what they want AND what they can offer employers.
And FWIW, I agree with Kay - the labor market is better for both sides when employers and employees actually focus on finding a great match vs. just hiring a huge class of students and hoping for the best. 🙌
