I know everyone's freaking out about AI...
...but is THIS data the biggest threat to our species???
Specifically, because Gen Z came of age during an era of unfettered Screen Time and COVID shutdowns, they:
1️⃣ Missed out on a chance to build some of the relational skills we take for granted
2️⃣ Never got trained on the in-person collaboration experiences older generations got
3️⃣ Now feel a huge mental block about connecting with senior peers - even if those senior peers would LOVE to help!
And yes, I know that every emerging generation of young professionals feels Imposter Syndrome, anxiety, etc...
...but in my experience coaching Gen Z vs. Millennials, there's definitely way more reticence: To reach out, to raise their hands, to even ask questions.
So two questions for YOU:
1) Is this a distinctly Gen Z phenomenon? (I know, I'm already sounding like an old fogey...)
2) And even if it's not, how do we - the older generation (bosses, teammates, and coaches) - support the next generation to develop these skills and break through what's holding them back?
